ABOUT
Welcome to the Alton B. Parker Elementary School website. Alton B. Parker Elementary School is one of five elementary schools in the Cortland Enlarged City School District. Our school services approximately 300 student in grades Kindergarten through Sixth Grade from the east side of Route 281 to Greenbush Street and from the north side of SUNY Cortland’s campus and Clinton Ave to just short of West Main Street.
Alton B. Parker Elementary School is named after Cortland native, Alton B. Parker. Alton B. Parker was born in Cortland, New York in 1852 and served as a teacher, a lawyer and a judge. In 1904, Mr. Parker won the Democratic nomination for the United State Presidency. Alton B. Parker lost the election to Theodore Roosevelt. The Cortland community and Alton P. Parker Elementary School are very proud to be connected to this local historical figure.
Parker Elementary School has a Vision for Learners which focuses on five key areas that we believe will ensure student success. The Vision for Learners is made up of the following components: School Leadership, The Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, Social and Emotional Health, and Family and Community Engagement. This vision drives our decision making process and helps us focus our efforts to support all students and their families.
We are looking forward to another fantastic school year. We are eager to form relationships with your student and your family. Please follow us on Twitter at @CECSD_Parker, check in with our website, or call the school if you have questions or concerns. Talk to you soon!
