Teaching comprehension can be very challenging.  Comprehension is the purpose behind reading.  We want our students to read to understand.  I have found the 12 Processing Systems of Reading by Fountas & Pinnell to be a valuable tool on how I teach my students to read.  By using specific prompts and questions, I am able to teach comprehending within, beyond and about text.  The following are some helpful links to use for ideas and tips on how to teach comprehension.
