The Cortland Board of Education held a regular business meeting on September 17, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kaufman Center, 1 Valley View Dr.

During last night's Board of Education meeting Superintendent of Schools, Bob Edwards, shared information about recent visits to school buildings within the District.  Mr. Edwards shared that there are upcoming Educator and Community Sessions, hosted by NYSED, to advance the dialogue around Graduation Measures for all students and that this opportunity for feedback, along with the Foundation Aid study and a regionalization survey seem to point in the direction of a focused effort toward shifts that will come in the budget process for the 2025-2026 school year.  Mr. Edwards highlighted our new college and career readiness app, Xello, as well as some of the wonderful things we have going on in the district for the start of this school year.

Kris Williamson, the District’s Business Administrator, presented the 2025-2026 Budget Calendar. The budget calendar outlines a month-by-month schedule for developing and putting the budget out to the voters in May for the 2025-2026 school year.

The board approved the 2025-2026 budget calendar along with a donation of school supplies from the Cortlandville Walmart and several other items.

The Board of Education recognized our most recent Tiger Paw Recipient, Charlene Urtz, for her contribution to the District.
